4280 Ziegler Mahal
A Ziegler Mahal carpet circa 1880, named after the English firm, Ziegler & Company that produced many rugs in the Arak area of Persia at the tail end of the 19th century. The rugs that are identified as “Ziegler” are often ones using colors usually not seen in the other rugs made in the region. This olive green color was one that sold well in the English market for which their production was aimed.
