Serab rugs, produced in Northwest Persia, are noted for their crisp geometric design and drawing, as well as their extensive use of natural camel colored wool that is actually produced from ground walnuts.  This particular one has an unusual striped designs usually seen as minor borders.  Was this a teaching rug used to show different color combinations or border designs?

There is a section of the top end of this runner that is missing which can be restored if desired.
