Medallion

Corner

An unusually large example of a type of rug that was made at the beginning of the 20th century typically using mercerized cotton to give it a silk like sheen.  Most of this type of rug was produced in small sizes and marketed to tourists in the Turkish Bazaars. Through the decades, these pieces, when worn, produce a unique look that shows age and patina at the same time as the original bold colors peak through

Larger pieces such as this are quite rare and are of particular interest to collectors.
