One of the interesting “Gabbeh” type rug type made by the nomadic Lori tribes of Persia in the late 19th until the mod 20th century. The coloring of this rug is probably the result of undyed wool, since the Lot did not have easy access to dye materials

One of the group of Tibetan rugs known for their “checkerboard” design, this one has a wonderful tomato red and light gold color combination that is quite special.  There is a slight bit of wear in parts of the rug.  Circa 1900.
