7953 Tulu
Often confused with the “Gabbeh” carpets of Persia with which they share weaving technique and simplicity of design, Tulu carpets such as this were produced in the Karapinar villages in Konya, Turkey. They were produced for domestic, non-commercial use, and often contain no dyed colors, long, soft pile, and very simple designs that often look modernist to Western eyes.
